reachLOCAL: Jerusalem
reachLOCAL begins at our doorsteps reaching out with the love of Christ to our immediate neighbors; Macungie and the neighborhoods in which most of the members of Faith Church reside—our Jerusalem. Here love might look like breakfast for the teachers at local schools, opening our facilities as an emergency relief center, picking up trash along Hamilton Blvd, lighting a Christmas tree for the community. Love means being a good neighbor.
reachLOCAL: Judea
From “Jerusalem” our reach expands into Allentown and to our under-resourced neighbors—our Judea. Here love might be demonstrated by coming alongside families, ministries and schools to offer furniture, school supplies, tutoring, meals, counseling and encouragement. Love to our neighbors is often best seen through time spent with them. Our desire is to show the community that we are here for them and that we love them right where they are.
reachLOCAL: Samaria
As we reach further into the community we begin to find our Samaria; people groups who are from a different culture than the majority of the members of Faith Church. As we reach into Samaria our love will include immigration assistance, refugee aid, help with housing and job training; services that will continue to provide hope to the hopeless, light in the darkness and the warmth of welcome.
reachGLOBAL: Uttermost Parts of the Earth
reachGLOBAL begins in Samaria and quickly jumps to the uttermost parts of the earth. As we reach out to the nations outside the borders of the US we rely on those whom God has called to go. Our primary focus in this arena is those people groups who have not yet heard the good news of Jesus Christ in their heart language. We believe that God is calling Faith Church to partner closely with those who are going to the hard-to-reach areas of the world. Here love becomes incarnational across cultural, geographic and geopolitical borders. Here love might look like “Business as Mission (BAM),” linguistic studies and Bible translation, indigenous church plants led by national believers, discipleship of nationals and strategic short term trips. Our desire is to build the Kingdom and make Him famous.
All of this—reachLOCAL and reachGLOBAL: Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, the uttermost parts of the earth—is to make famous the name of Jesus Christ and to see the glory of the Father spread across the face of the earth (Ps 67). Reach Ministries cannot accomplish this on our own. Faith Church cannot accomplish this on her own. This can only be done through prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit as He moves within our body—calling people to leave where they are and go to the places that He shows them. Our job and desire is to partner with those people (both locally and globally) for the purpose of seeing the good news of Jesus Christ impact the nations, making more worshippers.
