Men of Faith

Ministry Opportunities

• The Men’s Ministry at Faith Church was founded after much prayer and seeking God for guidance in all decisions and plans that are made. Men are encouraged to fast and pray each Wednesday, wherever they are, for specific needs within the Men’s Ministry and church body.

Discipleship and Leadership Development 

• Discipleship Training: Training classes are held 2-3 times annually, to prepare individuals to disciple others one-on-one. When one is trained to disciple another, the one being discipled will be prepared to duplicate himself by discipling one-on-one, and thus continuing the cycle of reproducing disciples.

• Top Gun Training: Top Gun is an intensive discipleship ministry designed to assist men to become spiritual leaders, equipped to serve in permanent ministries. Top Gun is offered one time annually, from September through May (a choice of Thursday evening or Friday morning), preparing men to be spiritual leaders within themselves, their family, community, and the work place.

• Muster: Muster zeroes in on the biblical role of the Christian man as he faces all the trials, difficulties, and bumps in the road of life. These classes focus on topics and themes relevant to every man who really wants to walk with the Lord. Prayer times and accountability are also part of this class. We meet on Tuesday evenings, September through April.

• 2:7: The 2:7 Discipleship Series is based on Colossians 2:7: "rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." This series equips Christians with the spiritual tools that will help them grow deeper in their faith. Men involved in "2:7" will develop a stronger and more meaningful prayer life and personal devotional time. Their faith will grow, and they will learn how to help others come to faith in Jesus Christ. Groups meet either in the morning or evening, once per week, covering Books 1 and 2 between September and the following May. Cost is $15.

• Doctrine: Doctrine classes are offered on Sunday mornings. These sessions help each man handle scripture accurately, and understand basic doctrine from God’s Word.

• After: This ongoing recovery ministry assists men with the healing process from sexual and other addictive problems. For additional information, click here or on “Confidential for Men” on this web site.

• Car Care Clinic: These clinics are held on a Saturday morning each spring and fall for single moms, widows, and the elderly. Vehicles are prepared for the upcoming season at no charge to the recipient.

• Breakfasts: Breakfasts are held periodically, with special speakers who are of interest to the entire family.

• Men’s Retreat: Periodically we schedule a men’s retreat, where we can get away for a day and have some great Bible teaching, fellowship, great food, and super recreation. This is usually held during a winter month.

• Breakfast Of Champions: Held in October, this is an event that men should not miss. Men give their personal testimonies of how God has worked in their life during the past year or two. It's a fabulous breakfast - for Champions.

 Sports Ministries

• Basketball League: We usually have two teams that play in the local church basketball league between December and April. The games are officiated by licensed PIAA personnel.

• Band of Brothers Golf League: This new ministry meets at Shepherd Hills Golf Course during the summer.

• Monday Night Football Fellowship: Come share in a Bible study and the game! Study begins at 7:30, and the game at 8:40. Come early for food and refreshments! Doors open at 7:15 in the Fireplace Room, and the evening ends at halftime. Sign up here!

• Softball League: We field two teams each spring in the local church slow pitch softball league, played under ASA regulations. The league runs from late April through July. All men are invited to join!

• CHOP (Christian Hockey Outreach Program) Roller Blade Hockey: Several times annually, Men Of Faith sponsors Roller Blade Hockey games and tournaments. These tournaments are for male or female hockey enthusiasts 10 years of age and older. There are safety regulations and policies in place that all participants must adhere to.

• Family Hiking: Each spring and fall, we sponsor a hike to one of the popular hiking trails in the area. This is a popular event for families who want to spend time together on a Saturday morning, while getting some outdoor exercise.

• Periodic Events: Men Of Faith also schedules periodic golf tournaments, bus trips, college football outings, deep sea fishing excursions, and other exciting events for the entire family.
