Our Ministries
Children and Family Ministries
VBS: In Service of the
King! "Worship the Lord your God, and
serve Him only" (Matthew 4:10).
Hear Ye! Hear Ye! As a royal subject, your presence is requested by His Majesty,
the King, to attend our grand VBS celebration. The festive gathering takes place
August 4-8, 9:00-noon, at Faith Church Castle in the far-off land of Allentown.
The King desires all knights and princesses, ages four through completed-grade
seven, to attend this gala event. Please

Why Children and Family Ministries?
Those of us whom God has put
in place to minister to the children at Faith Church desire to make it perfectly
clear that we also take the responsibility of equipping parents
seriously. Families are commanded by scripture to spiritually nurture their
children, but the local church should be an intimate and valuable partner in the
effort to raise the coming generation of Christ’s followers and church leaders.

Nursery
Children’s Ministries begins at
birth. Nurseries are divided by age. Sleepers cover birth to approximately 12
months; Creepers 12-24 months, and Leapers 24-36 months. The environment of each
nursery is designed for learning about God as each child’s growth develops.
Leapers has a full Sunday School curriculum which is taught at both the 9:00
a.m. and 10:45 A.M. services.
Sunday School
Our Sunday School hour begins at 9:00 A.M. Children from ages 2 through 5th
grade have designated classes. Gospel Light curriculum is used.
DiscipleLand –
Children’s Church
Our 10:30 a.m. ministry is called by this name to differentiate it from the 9
A.M. service for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten. DiscipleLand curriculum is
published by Through the Bible.
K.I.D.S. Church
Children grades 1 through 5 will attend K.I.D.S. (Kids In Divine Service)
Church. Children will be worshipping God and growing in Christ as they seek His
face this hour. Along with the worship service, children will be challenged to
reach out for Christ. Small group involvement in prayer and outreach ministry
will be emphasized, as well as prayer and a personal devotional life. Kids go
directly to the Fireplace Room at 10:30 A.M. Runs September – May.
Mother and Daughter Life
of Faith Club (Click here for schedule:
MS Word or PDF)
A night filled with mothers and daughters growing together in Christ and closer
to one another. There will be crafts, skits, games, food, worship, fellowship,
Bible study, prayer and learning how to apply God’s Word to your life. All this
surrounds the historical fiction series “Life of Faith” which offers books,
study guides, dolls, and other tools to encourage girls to develop their own
life of faith. This Club is open to daughters from First Grade and up. Runs
September – May.
Wednesday Evening Family
Program – Kids Connect
Children’s programming runs September – May.
-
Kids Connect Faith Friends
is our Wednesday evening ministry for little ones age 3.
-
Kids Connect Tadpoles
is a pre-K/Kindergarten class with BOTH
boys and girls and their Dads. Families have fun together in
various activities and story time, as they grow together in Jesus.
-
Kids Connect God & Me
is an alternative class for pre-K/Kindergarten where children learn to handle
real-life situations (age level appropriate) based on Jesus’ teaching.
-
Kids Connect Grades 1-4
Girls and boys in grades 1-4 spend an action-packed evening with object
lessons, crafts, gym time and fellowship. Connecting kids to the Cross of
Christ and each other is the goal, not to mention growth and maturity! This
four year curriculum encompasses kids in Grades 1-4. The first half of the
year, the curriculum consists of Truth Works (a series written by Josh
McDowell), lessons on the Fruit of the Spirit, the 10 Commandments, and the
Armor of God. The focus on the second half of the year is applicable
age-appropriate life lessons, along with several special events which include
moms and dads.
-
Kids Connect Y5 The goal of Y5 is not to teach them independence; it is to teach them
dependence on God, and not to teach them freedom, but give them a personal
sense of vision. Our fifth graders enjoy Wednesday evenings form September to
May by participating in “community building” activities and Bible study. This
ministry is designed to help Christian children from
Faith Church and other area churches
identify and build relationships, easing their transition into the Middle
School ministry.
Volunteering in
Children’s Ministries
Many opportunities exist for exercising your faith in service in Children’s
Ministries. Sunday School, Children’s Church, and Wednesday evening Club
ministries provide a diversity of opportunities for each one to use the gift(s)
God has given.
Application
To be a volunteer in any area of ministry with children, adults and youth are
given an application for working within the ministry. The application process
involves an application form, picture identification (driver’s license or
student ID), a leadership consent form which indicates you have read and agree
to follow the guidelines in the Children’s Ministries manual, and, for adults, a
screening process. All adult volunteers are screened through a company called
Accufax.
Guidelines for specific
areas of service are also included in the application packet. Volunteers need to
read through these guidelines as there is important information crucial to the
ministry. From time to time infectious disease sessions are available to
workers, which has specific information on cleanup of wastes, etc. A video is
also available which explains the Infectious Disease Policy of Faith Church.
Building Blocks of Faith
A weekly ministry of preschool-age children. It is designed to provide social
interaction, Bible teaching and active learning through a variety of different
