					Dear Faith Church Family, This past Sunday evening over 300 people gathered in the FLC Worship Center for our annual congregational gathering to celebrate what God is doing in the life of our church. This short note is intended to provide an update for those unable to attend. Elder Report Harry Morgan gave a short report reviewing the past year and highlighting a few important areas that the elders will address in the days ahead. These areas include: our purpose as a church, the future direction of our missions efforts, probable revisions to our constitution, and the role and responsibility of elders and deacons. John Carpenter reviewed the status of this past year’s facility improvements and discussed a few additional improvements to take place this coming year including: new heating and air-conditioning in the FLC, and some needed upgrades to technology in both the FLC and the Sanctuary. Many thanks to John Carpenter, Joe Iudicello, and Tom Mutchler, elders who have finished their terms. These three men have served with distinction and now take a well-deserved break from the board. Bill Stanley and Brian Strobel were reelected for an additional term and Pat Tannous was elected for his first elder term. Senior Pastor Report I shared my perspective on the state of Faith Church and explained the reasons behind changing the Middle School Pastor position into two part-time roles. We will be looking to hire one director to oversee 5th-6th grade students and one to oversee 7th-8th grade students. Parents of students in these grades are invited to a meeting at 12:15 pm Sunday, April 22 in Mod C to hear more about this new direction in Student Ministries. I also shared briefly about the new Sunday evening worship venue planned to begin on June 3. While this venue will be open to everyone, the programming is targeted to reach the young adult community in the Lehigh Valley. I will preach the same message as I do Sunday morning, yet on occasion, my sermon will be delivered via video. There will be more information coming on this exciting new venture. Financial Report and 2013 Budget Pastor Jack briefly reviewed how God has blessed Faith Church this past year through the generous giving of His people resulting in a very positive financial position. He then presented the new budget for the fifteen month fiscal year, April 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013. The new budget calls for an approximate 11% increase in giving over current giving levels. As a result, I ask you to be intentional in considering how you can participate in giving to the ministries of Faith Church. Maybe you are newer to the body and God is calling you to invest financially in your home church. Or maybe you have been at Faith for a while and God is prompting you to increase your giving. Whatever your situation, would you ask God to show you how you can partner with us financially to ensure ministry continues? Building Project On behalf of the Steering Team, Thomas Brown shared an update regarding the new building. Currently, contractors and architects are working closely to develop preliminary project cost estimates. Once these costs are prepared the Steering Team will host a number of Q&A times to present the costs and answer questions about the project. At this point, we are considering an early June 2012 meeting for membership approval of the project. New Members In the final report of the evening Pastor Greg highlighted the new members recently approved by the elders. Pictures and short bios of these 27 people are included in a Membership Profile brochure available at the Welcome Centers. We closed the evening together by kneeling before God in humility and gratitude for all He has done and continues to do for the people and ministries of Faith Church. On behalf of the entire staff and the elders I thank you for the privilege of serving you. May God continue to pour out His grace and mercy on Faith Church in the days to come.

Annual Congregational Gathering

This Sunday evening at 6 pm, please consider joining the elders and staff for the annual congregational gathering to recount what God has been doing here at Faith, and to look ahead at the direction the Lord is leading.

While membership is required to cast a ballot on a couple items, anyone who considers Faith Church their home is encouraged to make this evening a priority as we will spend time praying together as a church family.

The will be a time of dessert fellowship during the gathering. If your last name begins with A-M please bring a pre-cut dessert to share.

Childcare will be provided for all ages downstairs in room B-01.

				If you are a member of Faith Church, please prioritize your attendance at a special congregational meeting this Sunday, February 12, at 12:30 pm, in the Sanctuary. There will be a congregational vote to call two men into pastoral positions. Paul Meiners as Senior Associate and Billy Dunn as Young Adult Pastors. There will be childcare available: Children birth through age 3 should be taken to Room 145 Children age 4 through Grade 5 to B01 Parents of the children involved in the musical rehearsal must pick them up following the rehearsal and take them to B-01 prior to signing into the meeting. 				As you may know, God has given many of us at Faith Church the burden to reach the young adult (ages 18 – 32) community of the Lehigh Valley with the Gospel. We believe that a primary vehicle to do this is through an alternative Sunday evening worship venue and specific discipleship mechanisms designed to engage this age group. After eighteen months of praying and searching, the Elders and Pastoral Staff are excited to announce Billy Dunn as the candidate for Young Adult Pastor of Faith Church. As the co-founder of Push the Rock & Fallout, Billy is a familiar face in the Lehigh Valley. He has served as the Youth Pastor at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church in Emmaus, the University Chaplain at Philadelphia Biblical University, and on the pastoral staff at Calvary Church in Souderton. In 2008, Billy had a personal crisis which took him out of ministry. Over the past three plus years Billy has gone through an extensive restoration process in which God has refined him in many ways. After five months of extensive dialogue with Billy, we believe his life story, gift set, and abilities make him the best candidate to lead our Young Adults Ministry forward. This Sunday, January 22, we will be announcing Billy’s candidating schedule, as well as making an informational brochure available at the Welcome Centers. Join us in praying that God would guide Faith Church in this important decision. If you are a member, please prioritize your attendance at a special congregational meeting on February 12, 12:30 pm, in the Sanctuary.

	All Wednesday Night Programs Are Postponed Tonight This evening we are postponing the regularly scheduled programs which includes high school and middle school ministries in order to celebrate the life of Emily Shoemaker in a memorial worship service. Calling hours are scheduled from 5:30 - 7pm with the service beginning at 7pm. Following the service the Shoemaker's invite everyone to share some dessert with them in the FLC Worship Center. Childcare is provided during the calling hours and the service for children up to four years old on the main level in Room 145.



		As Faith Church continues to pursue the option of building on the Hamilton Blvd. site, the steering committee will be issuing FAQ sheets. You are encouraged to visit our website to download the most recent and previous FAQ sheet. While there you can also review any of the information available regarding this project.

Friday night you won't want to be anywhere other than on the front lawn of Faith Church. We kick off the Christmas season with the community Christmas tree lighting. If you couldn't make it last year you'll certainly want to come this year. We've made some changes to last year's event and have added some great new activities as well.

					As you prepare to share the holidays with family and friends, the staff and elders of Faith Church encourage you to come spend the evening with your church family as we recount all that the Lord is doing in our lives. This service always brings about a great opportunity for community amoung the generations who attend and we hope you'll plan to be there as well. Childcare is provided for ages up to 3 years old. All other children and teens are welcome in the service. Please plan to stay after for coffee and dessert with the family of Faith. If you are unable to make it, please know that we wish you a very blessed Thanksgiving. Our prayer is that you see the Lord's blessing all year long and that this Thanksgiving will be a wonderful time of reflection on the greatness of our God.

	Again this year, Faith Church will be hosting a community christmas tree lighting event. Last year's inaugural event proved to be a great experience for promoting community in our part of the Lehigh Valley. This year, we'll be expanding the event by adding some different activities and making some upgrades to some of the things you told us we could improve from last year. We have a few surprises in store for you too!

	This event is a great opportunity for Faith Church to be hospitable to our neighbors, and we hope you'll invite your friends to join us. There will be invitation tickets available at the Welcome Centers in the coming weeks, so please pick up a few and invite all of your friends. Without your help we couldn't host an event that makes such an impact on our community. We have many needs to meet and it is our hope that we can count on the faithful of Faith Church to pitch in. December 2011

A Call to Pray and Fast.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given. And He will be called...Prince of Peace. As we move through this Advent season, I sense a desperate need for the Prince of Peace to fall on our congregation in a powerful way.

I am thankful for the many good things happening around us. Individuals are opening their hearts to Jesus. Others are being freed from addiction, abuse, guilt, and bondage into a new found freedom. People are growing in their understanding of the Bible and their desire to obey its commands.

We are making progress in our searches for Young Adult and Middle School Pastors. We are in the thick of planning a possible expansion to our facilities, allowing us to meet more ministry needs. We are mobilizing people to spread Christ locally and globally. We are making improvements to infrastructure, communication, facilities, and ministries. All of this gives us reason to rejoice. God is at work at Faith Church.

Yet our body is also reeling from many, many months of challenge. Death and grief. Marriages in jeopardy. Constant illness. People in pain. I know that this is not by chance, for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world!

I share these things to implore you to join us in this spiritual battle. As Elders and Staff, we are overwhelmed with all that is taking place in our body. We are crying out to the Prince of Peace to give our body rest from this onslaught. I invite you to join us.

Would you pray for the Faith Church family?

Pray that the peace of Christ would descend upon our hearts and protect our people and our campus. Pray boldly that these attacks would stop.

Pray that the God would allow us to be a comfort to those in pain.

Pray that we would grow in our trust and joy in Christ despite the circumstances around us.

Pray that we would represent Jesus well, remain faithful to the truths of the Bible, and remain unified as a family.

Pray for protection and wisdom for the Elders and Staff as we seek to lead Faith Church forward.

On Monday, December 12 and 19, from sun up to sun down, we will be fasting and praying for the peace of our congregation AND the direction of our church.
