Frequently Asked Questions
Adult Bible Fellowships
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What does ABF stand for?
ABF is an acronym for Adult Bible Fellowship. At Faith Church we
have adopted the ABF structure for our adult Sunday School classes in order to
provide opportunities for adults to join smaller “communities” within the larger
church body. We recognize that, in addition to growing in bible knowledge,
adults have a strong need to “connect” with other folks with similar interests
and life needs. These smaller “communities” provide the sense of belonging and
help to establish close Christian fellowship so necessary in today’s fast-paced
world.
What ABFs are offered and when?
We have many ABFs, each with a specific life-stage constituency
and/or teaching curriculum. All feature sound Biblical teaching and a focus on
“group-life” needs (care/nurturing, outreach and fellowship). See the
ABFs
and Times page for specific details.
Can I attend any ABF regardless of age?
You sure may! We want you to find an ABF where you feel welcomed
and “connected.” We have no rules which limit your access to any ABF and
encourage you to try out several ABFs to be certain you have found your “home.”
Can I change ABFs once I sign up?
Our heart-felt desire is that your ABF provides you a safe
environment where you are comfortable and feel free to express your spiritual
needs and experiences with your mates. If the Lord directs you to seek another,
ABF, you are encouraged to find a better fit where you can can minister and be
ministered to in a loving, accepting environment. And remember, at all times,
your feedback is welcomed by the ABF Leader. We want our ABFs to be the best
they can be for the Lord!
How can I get involved in ministry?
There are ample ways to serve others at Faith Church! Thanks for
wanting to get involved and to serve the Lord as He has instructed us to do.
First, pray about your spiritual gifts and seek the Lord’s direction where you
might serve. If you are unsure of you spiritual gifts, sign up for the
Uniquely You (link to follow) Elective Class at the next opportunity. If you desire
to serve within your ABF, simply speak to your ABF Leader about how and where
you can get involved. There are many opportunities for ministry to our fellow
believers – just ask!
